About Brigid’s Library

Welcome to Brigid’s Library, our virtual book club! We’re glad to have you here.

We are a community of readers brought together by a shared love of good stories, authors, and culture. We follow in a long tradition of literary excellence, brought to us by WB Yeats, Bram Stoker, James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde, Seamus Heaney, Edna O’Brien, Maeve Binchy, Roddy Doyle, George Bernard Shaw, and so many more.

From contemporary fiction, history, and folklore, our group explores the rich tapestry of life through the books we share.

Whether you have deep Irish roots, are fascinated by Irish culture, or just love a good tale, you’ll find a warm, friendly space here. Our meetings are welcoming–as in a hundred thousand welcomes–and lively, with thoughtful discussion, special events, and knowledgable guest speakers. We believe in flexible participation, diverse viewpoints, and sharing a bit of craic as we read together from everywhere in the world.

Join us as we celebrate magic, humor, and heart, one book at a time.

Reach out to us any time: You’ll find us helpful and knowledgeable as reliable resources on your book journey here. We love getting to know you! Email shelagh@byancestry.com

All the best to you, from us here at Brigid’s Library
